Investigator warns :"Stem cells are not magic"
07/24/2018

Molecular Biology Ph.D is worried about the lack of integrity of some treatments.
Gonzalo Cancino, Investigator from the Center for Integrative Biology of Universidad Mayor, states that stem cells "are not a panacea" and says that some health centers don't comply with what they offer. "In a certain moment, it looked like stem cells could cure a lot of diseases, but that didn't happen. Parents who used to keep their children's umbilical cord, nowadays don't trust in health centers who offer to conserve the cells in exchange for money because of several cases in which they were misused. They even weren't stocked in NO2 at -180°C, the correct temperature. Not al health centers work in the same way, for some of them this morphed into business.
